# Guests

> The guest list: finding a guest, deleting one, and bringing a deleted guest back.

**Guests** is in the Guests & Marketing group. You see it with permission to view guests; adding, editing, deleting and restoring a guest need permission to manage guests (by default **Owner** and **Admin**).

## The list

Search by name, email or phone. **All Guests**, **VIP Only** and **Blocked Only** each show how many guests they hold. Click a guest to open the profile.

## Deleting and restoring a guest

**Delete** asks for confirmation: "You can restore this guest for 30 days from Recently deleted. To erase personal data permanently, use a GDPR request." A guest who has bookings cannot be deleted; the message offers **Merge instead**, which opens the duplicates screen where you merge the profile into the one you keep.

After a delete, a notice says "Ana Popescu deleted" with **Undo**. It stays for 10 seconds, and does not count down while the pointer is over it or while it has keyboard focus. **Ctrl+Z** (**Cmd+Z** on a Mac) also undoes, unless you are typing in a field.

The notice is not the only way back. **Recently deleted (30 days)**, next to the other filters, lists every guest deleted in the last 30 days with who deleted them and when ("Deleted by Ioana Marin, 2 days ago"), and **Restore** brings one back. If someone added the same guest again in the meantime, the restore still goes through and suggests **Review duplicates**.

Three different things:

* **Delete** hides the profile and can be undone for 30 days;
* **Merge** moves one profile's stays onto another (see the duplicates screen);
* **GDPR erasure** removes personal data for good, through a GDPR request under Settings.
