Loyalty, Rewards and Referrals are in the Guests & Marketing group. They are part of your subscription’s loyalty module; you see them with permission to view loyalty and change them with permission to manage it (by default only Owner and Admin).

The programme

Loyalty Program shows the total points issued, the average balance, the lifetime value and the active tiers, with Recalculate Loyalty and Settings.

How points are earned

In Settings, Earning rules:
  • awarding points at check-out (on or off);
  • Earn rate — “Points earned per 1 unit of the booking currency” (10 by default);
  • Direct booking multiplier — “Applied to direct, phone, email, walk-in and website bookings. 1 means no boost.”;
  • Points rounding: Round down (the default), Round to nearest, Round up;
  • the programme’s rules, as text.
Points are awarded when the booking is checked out: the amount × the rate × the source multiplier × the guest’s tier multiplier.

Tiers

Loyalty tiers → Add tier: Name (Gold, for example), Minimum bookings and Maximum bookings (empty for the top tier), Discount (%), Display order, Colour, Active, Benefits (Early check-in, Late checkout, Free cleaning, Priority support) and Points multiplier. Guests move into a tier by number of bookings. A new organization has no tiers: create them yourself. A tier that has guests cannot be deleted — deactivate it.
A tier’s discount and benefits are for information: Gridbeds does not apply them to a booking on its own. You grant them — the discount on the booking’s price; early check-in from the guest store or at the front desk.

Rewards

Rewards Catalog → Create Reward: name, description, the type — Discount Code, Free Night, Room Upgrade, Perk/Benefit or Referral Credit —, the value, the cost in points (empty means free), the minimum tier, the validity period, the maximum number of redemptions and Active. A reward already redeemed can no longer be deleted: deactivate it. Guests learn from their portal that rewards are redeemed at the front desk.

What does not work yet

Coming soon:
  • Paying with points on the folio. The Redeem points button on the booking’s bill answers “Loyalty redemption is not enabled for this organization.”, and switching it on has no screen yet. Meanwhile, give the points’ value as a discount on the booking.
  • Redeeming a reward at the front desk. A guest’s loyalty page (points, history, rewards, adjusting points) exists, but it has no link from their profile yet.
  • Referrals. Referral Program has the statuses Pending, Completed, Rewarded and Expired, but nothing creates a referral yet — guests do not see their code in the portal —, so the list stays empty.
