Opening it
- Ctrl K (⌘ K on a Mac), Alt+S (⌥S), or the search box at the top of the screen.
- Alt+N (⌥N) starts a new booking and Alt+T (⌥T) shows the calendar at today, from any screen. On the calendar the two work in place — see Calendar.
- Alt+A (⌥A) opens the assistant. When what you typed in search reads like a question — more than four words, or starting with ? — its last row hands it to the assistant: Tab, or Enter when nothing was found.
What it finds
Type at least two characters. Search looks in every property you have access to; the property selected in the sidebar comes first, and a result from another property shows that property’s name.- Best match lists what equals what you typed: a booking number, a channel reference (for example a Booking.com confirmation), an email, a phone number or a room name. A phone number is found however it was written — “0721 234 567” finds “+40 721 234 567” once you have typed seven digits.
- A booking reference must be typed exactly: one character off finds nothing rather than another guest’s booking.
- #room 204 looks only among rooms, #book among bookings, #guest among guests, #prop among properties and #task among tasks.
Acting on a result
Move with ↑ and ↓, open the highlighted result with Enter, or open one of the first nine with Ctrl 1–9 (⌘ 1–9). On a booking or a room, Tab (or → at the end of what you typed) shows what you can do with it, right under it; ← or Esc hides it again. The pointer can use the arrow on the result’s right.
An action you cannot take right now stays in the list, greyed, with the reason beside it — the same reason the booking’s panel gives, for example “Assign a room before checking in” or “The channel collected this stay’s payment”. An action your role does not allow is not shown at all. Acting on a result from another property moves the sidebar to that property first.
Search is kept per browser: your recent searches and records are cleared when you sign out or switch organization.
